I’ve always believed we don’t become who we are by accident.
As a kid, I knew the sting of shame early. I was bullied for my weight, my appearance, my voice — long before I ever understood how deeply those wounds would shape me. Every laugh behind my back, every sideways glance, every insult etched into my mind. I didn’t just carry those moments; I dragged them.
But I fought back. I turned pain into power. I rebuilt myself physically, becoming a gym instructor and training six days a week — not just for looks, but to reclaim a sense of worth that had been stolen. By 34, I had everything I’d once dreamed of: a strong body, a successful career, a beautiful family. I was a father, a husband, a businessman with over 20 years of experience at the top of his game. I was living what most would call their best life.
And then came the fall.
